Summary of work performed:
This contract included performing materials testing services for the Florida Department of Transportation in Districts 1 and 7. Materials testing was performed on various Highway projects for the department as a verification lab. Testing was performed on materials including aggregate, asphalt, concrete, and soils. Examples of tests performed included carbonate content, sieve analysis, particle size analysis, LA Abrasion, Concrete Cylinder Strength, Limerock Bearing Ratio (LBR), Liquid Limit, Plastic Limit, Material passing #200 sieve, Moisture Content, Organic Content, pH, Modified Proctor, and Standard Proctor. The contract was so successful that HighSpans was selected for another materials testing contract with FDOT while this contract was ongoing.
